Media handling- Media is handled in a fast and hassle-free manner thorough the 500 sheet front cassette and 100 sheet multi-tray. The machine accepted well known paper types such as plain, colour, bond, transparencies, labels and envelopes when used with the right Toner. Compatible paper sizes on the other hand are limited to letter and legal. The device also has a standard media capacity of 600 sheets. Warm-up time of a very short 1second is required with first copy out time for black and white prints at 13 seconds
Print Quality- Text prints are absolutely crisp and clean with no smudging or blemishing. Character outlines are clear both in high and low font sizes. Photo and graphics quality is also above average. However most users will prefer colour to monochrome printing. If this is the case, rather opt for a Canon colour printer. Prints are produced at either 600×600 or 2400×600 resolutions depending on the print quality required.
Con’s- A major problem is the printers’ paper jam tendency. You will have to unjam and restart every time this happens, wasting a lot of time. Reliability is serious compromised by this problem. If time is limited and print quantity substantial in your print environment rather steer clear from this device as it has the potential of driving you crazy within a short period of time.

Interfacing- Connectivity options cater for both your older computers in the form of Parallel and latest technology with USB connections. Unfortunately, only Windows operating systems are supported by the device. Currently Vista OS is also not compatible with the device. This limits the user base significantly as Linux and Apple Mac systems are totally rejected. Remember USB cable is not included with your purchase.

The device comes with excellent Single Cartridge System that contains toner, development unit and drum that requires only one replacement cartridge. Cartridges retails for approximately US$160.00.
