Have A Look At The Samsung CLP 500 Printer

Samsung has built a brand new color laser for the midrange budget, and for $249 they seem to have done it right.  The Samsung CLP 500 printer is an elegant and functional laser printer that allows you to do all the fancy tricks without having to part with the cash you might expect. A good return on your investment is pretty much guaranteed, without any compromise in quality thanks to the Samsung CLP 500 toner.

It is fast, with up to 21 pages per minute for black and white and five pages per minute for color. It is the fastest model in its category, which is a bonus for clients who hate to wait. It does take a couple of minutes for it to start its first page, but this is not a big deal.

The speed of the connection cables is also great.  The USB 2.0 is 40 times quicker than the printers that use USB 1.1. Another winning feature in the connectivity department is a standard IEEE-1284 parallel port included in the package for free. It comes with an optional dual wired/wireless interface network card, which if you like to work in a cable free office is a huge advantage.

One of its greatest selling points is that it has automatic duplexing. In English that translates to being able to do double-sided printing. This does slow it down, but you will save money on toner and paper. This feature makes printing booklets and guide manuals easy, just tell your printer what you want to do and staple the center of the end result to enjoy your professional looking booklet. However, make sure that when you use it in this mode, you do not try to pull the page out before it has finished duplexing. I say this because the printer has a somewhat strange way of letting the paper out and then dragging it all the way back to finish the process. I would recommend walking away and letting the printer do its job.

It is easy to operate too. The built in LCD window makes copying, printing and duplexing a breeze. It is also compatible with PCs and Mac, great for dual platform offices.

It is quiet for a laser printer, but if you are a Mercedes and Audi-type owner who was willing to pay for near-complete silence when drive, you might want to invest a little more in a different machine. However, with normal business noises what they are, you shouldn’t be bothered at all by the 48 decibels of noise it creates.

The printer is easy to open and changing cartridges is not at all complicated. As usual with new printers, the complimentary toner will not print more than 1,500 pages, so you might want to buy one soon and have it on hand.

The printing resolution is at 1,200 dots per inch and comes with a four color toner system. The memory is also more than adequate at 65 MB of random access memory (RAM), which can be expanded to 192 MB for hardcore users.

The Samsung CLP-500 printer at $249 is a great buy for small businesses and demanding users who want high quality, speed, low noise and duplexing features without the high price.

This high quality for a good price extends to the Samsung CLP 500 toner.  Online retailers offer many types of Samsung toner, as well as toner for other brands, at such amazing prices it makes any printer ready to be used to its full capacity.
