Making commercials and movies can be expensive and time consuming. One way many directors and producers are saving time and money is by using HD stock video. This can save time filming and also save money on acting. There is also so much that can be done with stock footage these days.  You almost cannot tell that what you are viewing is even stock video.

It can be difficult to notice because of the technology that is used today, but they can actually incorporate seamlessly stock video into new video so that it looks like it is suppose to be there. It really is amazing.

A lot of films use HD stock footage. They have actually been doing this for years but it is so popular now because it is easy to do. Computers have made the process easy and simple. There is just so much that can be done with stock video in the movies nowadays.

Stock video is normally inexpensive, but sometimes it is not cheap. Certain companies will often times charge a lot of money for these clip and some will even ask for royalty fees, depending on how long the videos are. Many sites online, though, offer royalty free HD stock video for anyone that wants to use it. Many times it is absolutely free to use these videos.

Most directors choose stock video when they need to bring production costs down. It also lowers amount needed to pay for staff and editing. It can make parts of the movies process easier and quicker.

Much of the HD stock video that is available is very general. It may be of animals in the wild, landmarks, certain cities or historical events. The greatest example of this is the movie Forrest Gump with Tom Hanks. The director made us believe that Forrest Gump was really at those historical events just by using stock video and a little bit of technology. It looked amazing.

Some companies actually own the rights to HD stock video and they use their business to rent out stock video to filmmakers or web designers. They normally do not charge royalty fees. If they do, you may want to reconsider doing business with that company. Many companies will ask you to put their company logo somewhere on the screen while you are using their footage (especially the news). Many news shows will use their own footage or another news company’s footage.

Using HD stock video footage is a good idea if you know how to use it. There is a lot of technology out there that will help you to use stock video and edit it for your movie or commercial. Many people even use this for their websites. It can be helpful when you are creating your company’s videos for YouTube or creating your company’s website. Many sites will allow you to use their stock video for free and even royalty free. It can’t get better than free!
