The Brother HL 1435 Printer can be hooked up to both personal computers and Mac computers. I was designed as a personal computer using laser technology. It comes with 4MB of memory, which is great but you cannot add on any additional memory if you wanted to. It does print high quality with a resolution of 1200 x 600 dots per inch. The most page sit can print in a minute is 15 and the largest paper it can print on is a letter or legal size.
The printer can print on a variety of media as long as it is within the maximum size, and this includes photo paper, plain paper, transparencies, card stock, labels and even envelopes. It does have a manual paper feed bypass so you can print on envelopes and letterhead if necessary. This printer can be connected to your computer using a parallel cord or a USB connection. It operates on Windows 95 or later and Mac OS 8.6 or later.
This printer can only be hooked up to one computer as it cannot be networked and it is only a printer so there is no scanner or copying function. The Brother HL 1435 Printer also comes with a TN-430 toner cartridge, CD-ROM that has drivers and manuals, a quick set up guide and DR-400 drum unit. If you do not already own one you will need to purchase a printer cable. It comes with a one-year warranty that covers parts and services as well as an exchange program.
It is a great printer if you need to print out both text files as well as heavy-duty graphics. When printing a few pages it is very fast but when printing longer documents, say at 20 pages, it will pause every few pages. Your documents will appear crisp and clear and of much higher quality then can be achieved using an inkjet.
Customers were very pleased with the ease of use. If for some reason a problem arose they were directly linked to the manufacturers web page and the company offers very good trouble shooting services.
You do need to be warned that if you use USB it will only work with certain USB cables not all of them. You need to have a cable that is less then 6 feet long otherwise it will not work with your computer.
Additionally the printer may not work if you are using a USB hub. You also need to make sure the printer will work with your USB port, as it will only connect with a specific type of USB. If you do not want to deal with the USB hassles then just use a parallel port printer cable.
The Brother HL 1435 Printer is a great printer if you need the quality from a laser printer but cannot afford to spend thousands of dollars on a printer. The printer can print on a variety of media, can connect to both PC and Mac computers and is perfect for personal printing needs. You will need to purchase Brother HL 1435 toner cartridge but it does last much longer then toner for inkjet printers. For the quality and service you are getting this is an outstanding printer for home use, particularly for the affordable price. For more information, check out our site http://www.qtoner.us.
