Perfect in a work group within a larger office or in a small office setting, the HP LaserJet 2420 Printer can handle any workload you have. The print speed and quality are excellent for a low priced machine. A replacement HP 2420dn toner cartridge comes at attractive pricing and is easy to locate. This networked monochrome laser printer has 2420 by 2420 maximum resolution, 64 MB of memory that is expandable to 320 MB.

This small printer will fit into any limited office space setting with ease. It weighs only 35 pounds and measures in at 16.7 by 15.7 and 10.2 inches high. It has a low cost per page due to its large reservoir of toner and a more efficient printing process. It comes complete with a user’s manual, quick start instructions to get you up and running fast, starter toner, software and a power cord.

Able to handle most printing tasks required of an office it can print 30 pages per minute in black and white. It has 2420 DPI print resolution giving you crisp output. It comes with a parallel port and a high speed USB connection but you will have to buy a separate USB cable. IEEE 1284-B parallel is available as well aimed for more traditional and older networks.

You can print on transparencies, bond paper, envelopes, card stock, labels and recycled paper. It can hold up to 250 sheets of paper in the single auto load tray and 350 sheets total. There is an optional 500 sheet tray available. It operates on Windows Vista, Mac OS9. X or 10. X and later. It will even run in a Windows ’98 environment, NT4.0, Me, 2000 and XP. This high speed printer is affordable and durable with its 75,000 page per month duty cycle.

It is usually inefficient to have a network printer; it adds layers of complexity and is a recipe for hardware failure. Unless you have a dedicated fast PC the person who uses the PC that is attached to the printer will experience slow performance and will be interrupted by printer issues. The networking properties available on the 2420 incorporate a full networked print server with the 10/100 Base TX Ethernet HP JetDirect embedded print server feature with automatic duplex printing.

The HP toner is available at attractive pricing when replacement is required. The starter cartridge is rated for 6,000 sheets at 5 percent coverage. High yield cartridges are rated for 12,000 sheets at 5 percent coverage. HP smart printing supplies program will automatically alert you when the toner is running low. Printing in EconoMode saves toner.

Font support includes HP PCL 6, PCL 5e, PS3 emulation, direct PDF printing v 1.3 and 80 fonts are included. Power consumption is 625 watts and 11 watts when idle or in sleep/standby mode. Cold start time is less than 10 seconds; you can power the printer up and start using it almost immediately. The printer conserves electricity by reducing power consumption when it is not printing qualifying it for Energy Start rating.

There is a one year service and support warranty. The HP LaserJet 2420 Printer includes a 400 MHz microprocessor that helps to keep the 32MB of RAM processing well and producing print product on demand in the high quality you would expect and have come to know from HP toners. For a fraction of what most office printers cost, this little printer can do the job very well.
