The HP Color LaserJet 5550dtn printer does not come with a sorter, stacker or finisher. In addition, one is not offered as an option by HP. According to HP, the 5550dtn is designed to accept a possible future option for paper handling. There also seems to be the option of this handler being manufactured by third parties.
In addition to the normal letter or legal sized paper, this printer is able to handle the super tabloid size paper. The printer is an excellent option for graphic artists. It also makes a good choice for groups needing full bleed proofs in the tabloid size, as well as those who print many photos.
The 5550dtn printer is the high end of HP’s 5550 family of printers. It features two-sided printing with an automated duplex capacity. It also has an additional 500 sheet input tray that brings the sheet capacity to 1,100 pages. The RAM has also been increased by 128 MB to 228 MB of memory and a printer stand is included. Some of these features cannot be added as options on the lower end models.
