The media types that can be utilize with the printer consistently are papers (recycled/preprinted), transparencies, envelopes, cardstock, and labels. The size of the machine allows it to print on media sizes between a minimum of 3 x 6.3″ and a maximum of 8.5 x 14″.

The storage capacity is 32-Mega Bytes. Various operating systems like Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Vista, Windows 2003, Linux, and Macintosh are consistent with the 310 machine. Like many laser printers, this one employs toner cartridges for its print needs.

Black toner cartridges have an average life-expectancy of 1,500 pages.  The starter cartridges dish out 1,000 pages. Cyan/Yellow/Magenta toner cartridges have an average life-expectancy of 1,000 pages and the starter cartridges produces 700 pages. The output tray holds up to 100 documents. Documents are printed and expelled face-down, eradicating the need to sort through documents. Many users of the machine have reported that it is painless to remove or fix paper jams.

The capable processor that employs 360 Mega Hertz should accommodate complex prints. The High-Speed Universal Serial Bus port is used for direct connection between the computer and the printer. Although the machine’s size and capability is contrary, it is gratifying to know that an Ethernet port is included. The printer can be networked in a work-team environment, if necessary.
