Taking the HP LaserJet 2420 printer for what it is means one will be taking on a good Hewlett-Packard monochrome laser printer of high print speed and excellent print quality provided by HP LaserJet 2420 toner. That it comes at a low price, relatively speaking when considering all its features, is a bit surprising. But the 2420 offers much to like and very little to dislike when it comes to sizing it up.
Generally speaking, the LaserJet 2420 occupies a niche that can make it a nice candidate for the office workhorse printer within a workgroup or network or even as a stand alone printer within many a small office environment. It handles just about all of its print jobs with ease and it can print out 30 pages or more of high-quality product, which is sure to please anyone who purchases this laser printer.
Additionally, print quality is also rated as being uniformly excellent across all assessment criteria. This HP model comes with 1,200 dots per inch print resolution, meaning that anything that comes out of the printer will look sharp, crisp and clean. Hewlett-Packard is probably the most well-known printer manufacturer for a number of reasons, including that it delivers good print quality in general.
Much of this quality embedded within the 2420 Hewlett-Packard is because of one of the manufacturer’s image enhancement technology suites that Hewlett-Packard makes use of within almost all of its laser printers. As well, everything going on with the printer will be handled by a 400 MHz processor that keeps the 32 MB of memory humming along smoothly, delivering print when and where it’s needed.
As far as ease of connectivity, this device can be joined to a computer or to a workgroup by means of either a parallel port or a high-speed USB connection. Keep in mind that Hewlett-Packard does not supply USB cables with its printers, so if one hasn’t already been purchased consider selecting a nice cable to go with the printer while still in the store.

Bond paper and even recycled paper can be used quite easily by this machine and it will also print out on envelopes and transparencies along with labels. Additionally, a single auto load tray can hold 250 sheets of paper, with this printer holding 350 sheets altogether.
This HP model is able to make use of several different Windows operating systems, as well as being compatible with Mac OS 9.X and 10.X OSs. It will even take on Windows 98, which is an operating system that is about 13 years old nowadays. Given that, no user should have much of any concern about being able to connect this printer to whatever operating system he or she happens to be running.
When looked at as a complete package, it’s only surprising that this 30 page per minute printer isn’t selling for more than the $500 list price that many retail outlets are offering it at before discounts are applied. Considering that it’s also durable — with a 75,000 page per month duty cycle — one will indeed say that the HP LaserJet 2420 printer does most everything well and is an ideal candidate for the needs of many potential users.
The HP LaserJet 2420 toner will meet the needs of even the most demanding professional. Quality is a standard with HP toner and smart users know that the better the toner, the better their presentation will be.
