Tech Blog: Making A Major Impact On Business

by garrett on September 24, 2007

Around the dawn of the new millennium, a new idea arose; using the internet as a personal journal. Millions of people flocked to start blogs about sports, work, cooking and home life. To a select few these types of blogs, were a little mundane. Some they decided to start a technology blog. A tech blog keeps the world up to date with tech news and which products are vast improvements over old designs, and which products are just repackaged junk.

Tech blogs are a great source of consumer information for people considering buying new tech products. A tech blog is basically a collection of product reviews and advice columns written by industry geeks and insiders, posted all over the internet. The blogs are usually focused around some specific brand or product category, and written in a “geeky” but informative way. Let’s say you’re considering the purchase of a $400 digital camera. Who better to get information from than a geek who makes it their business to know all about the product you want to purchase?

Although from humble beginnings as loners who preferred the consistency of machines to the flaws of others, geeks have come a long ways from being picked on by bullies. Now geeks may be telling the bullies what kinds of Digital Camera would best be used to capture their child own conquests, or the best cell phone with internet capabilities, or how to set up a wireless network.

Many of the gaming blogs tend to be geared toward the high-end gamer and not your average computer user, who would likely recoil at the cost of a true gaming computer. Many of these bloggers have, by virtue of their experience, an almost encyclopedic knowledge of computer hardware, in addition to helpful advice on virus, spyware, and malware removal.

The question now is not why someone would become a tech geek- it’s why isn’t everyone a tech geek? We are now surrounded by high technology products everywhere we go, from the garage door opener that lets us drive away from home to the laptops that we carry with us everywhere. You can call your home to make the lights turn on, and get coffee surrounded by your fellow computer users.

The advent of the tech blog is now letting many introverted geniuses voice their thoughts to the rest of the world. People who appear to be shy or withdrawn often transform into brilliant, creative masterminds when they type their thoughts on the Internet rather than share them verbally face-to-face with another person. Many people look to these blogs for advice and guidance before they will buy anything or do business with any company.

One popular subject was the technology blog, which served to inform and keep readers up to date with tech news. These blogs included reviews of new products to help readers separate, which new tech items were improvements and which were a waste of money. The tech blogs give tech geeks a place to enthuse about the latest in modern technology, and their expertise has given them renown. Many people are by nature loners, preferring the dependability of technology to the fickleness of human company. Many of the gaming blogs tend to be geared toward the high-end gamer and not your average computer user.
