The HP LaserJet 4100TN Is The Best Choice For Your Home Office

Understanding what the HP LaserJet 4100tn printer brings to a business will mean understanding that this workhorse monochrome printer from Hewlett-Packard is all about functionality and relatively low price. But that it also comes with a number of nice features and capabilities is a pleasant surprise, and one sure to make this printer, using the exceptional HP LaserJet 4100tn toner, a good candidate for a number of circumstances.

As a monochrome workgroup laser jet unit, Hewlett-Packard has designed the 4100tn to be durable and reliable. When compared to almost every other monochrome networked workgroup printer in its market segment, it is nothing but extremely low in price.  The other competitors are several hundred dollars more in cost, while not being any more capable in terms of how they handle print jobs.

The 4100tn also can print out up to 25 pages of product in a minute which, considering its relatively low price of about $220 for a refurbished unit (new will run about double that), is an additional pleasant surprise. Task-to-production times is a nice 18 seconds, meaning that the first page will emerge about 18 seconds after the print job has been sent to the workgroup printer.

Connectivity is handled in the 4100tn by means of wired technology. Hewlett-Packard has provided its two standard workhorse printer ports — a parallel and a nice Ethernet 10/100 — to make it easy for the IT guru in the group to get the machine hooked up to the workgroup and chugging away in a relatively low period of time. This is yet another feature that serves to make the 4100tn a solid candidate for almost any small or medium-sized business.

The quality of printing that the 4100tn is capable of is typical of a Hewlett-Packard printer and will come in at 1,200 dots per inch.  This should be more than enough for the needs of any workgroup. This will mean that any product emerging from the printer will be clear and sharp and there will be little, if any, evidence of blurring or smudging.

HP has also provided standard duplex printing capability, which means that double-sided printing will be able to be tasked to the 4100tn. There are over 110 different fonts that the printer can make use of, as well. It will be able to handle all of this through a 250 MHz processor, meaning that print jobs will be handled fairly quickly and with little muss or fuss.

Included memory is also typical of a Hewlett-Packard workgroup printer, coming in at 32 MB of RAM. This can be upgraded to a full 256 MB, if needed. Depending on the print needs of the workgroup which will be served by the 4100tn, it just may be that it won’t be necessary to have the printer upgraded when it comes to RAM. Check with the local IT specialist to see if this will be the case.

In all, there is a great deal to like about the HP LaserJet 4100tn printer and what it brings to a business in terms of a nicely-performing printer that’s available at a fairly low price (currently, about $220 for a refurbished model). It combines good print speeds with low costs of operation and excellent print resolution, all wrapped up in a package that’s easy to maintain.

HP LaserJet 4100tn toner certainly continues the concept of low cost of operation.  Using HP toner removes the need for expensive reprints, as anyone who has used this quality toner can tell you.  Overall, excellent value for the dollar.
