The HP LaserJet 3150 Printer – A Multi-Functional Compact Machine

The HP LaserJet 3150 printer is a multi-purpose machine that is suitable for any office or business. Apart from its main function to print documents or graphics, it can also carry out reproductions, scanning, and faxing.  Everything is in black and white and as crisp and clear as one could wish with HP LaserJet 3150 toner.

Printing speed is up to 6 ppm (pages per minute). It has a printing resolution of 600 dpi (dots per inch) and can handle standard media sizes like letter, legal and executive. Flexibility is not a problem as it can also work with envelopes, transparencies, labels and card stocks, aside from plain paper. In a matter of 18 seconds, it can churn out its first page from power on.

As a copier, it can make reproductions with the speed of up to 6 cpm (copies per minute). A 600 dpi resolution allows for clear copies. It also has the capacity to reduce and enlarge from 50 percent to 200 percent. In addition, it has a multiple copying feature of up to 99 pages per task, with automatic collation to boot.

It has an optical scanning resolution of up to 300 dpi, with grayscale levels of 256. But it may be enhanced as well to 600 dpi. Up to 6 pages can be scanned every minute, but this speed excludes data transfer from the CPU to this machine. When it comes to scannable areas, it has a minimum of 2 in. x 3.5 in., and a maximum area of 8.5 in. x 39 in.

As a fax machine, a single page takes about 6 seconds to transmit. It has an automatic document feeder that can handle up to 30 pages. Fax paper sizes that can be used include A4, letter, legal and long page. Resolution may be set to standard (203 x 98 dpi), fine (203 x 196 dpi) and superfine (300 x 300 dpi). Then there is also photo mode (300 x 300 dpi) which is halftone enabled.

It’s compatible with ITU Group 3, and fax coding schemes MMR, MH, MR, and JBIG compressions. Modem speed is anywhere from 2400 to 14400 bps (bits per second). The printer’s quick dialing features include programmable speed dials of equal to 175, and 25 distribution lists.

Having a compact size, this machine can fit into practically any space in your home or workplace. The unit is 10.7 inches in height, 15 inches in width, and a little over 15 inches in depth. It weighs just a little more than 23 pounds, and that is with the toner cartridge installed. An LCD necessary for viewing machine prompts and messages graces the control panel in front. There are a total of 35 buttons for its multiple functions.

This laser jet can handle scanning and printing tasks at the same time. However, if a fax comes in while the machine is printing, the incoming document is momentarily stored on the memory. After the printing task is done, then it automatically prints the stored document. The built-in memory, by the way, is 2 MB and it is capable of storing up to 150 fax pages.

The HP LaserJet 3150 printer is compact, yet capable of multiple functions. With just one machine, a workplace’s printing, copying, scanning and faxing needs are met. If you are looking for something that can help out with your business’ efficiency and productivity, then look no further.

Getting additional HP LaserJet 3150 toner for this multi-use machine will be ongoing expense.  Obtaining new HP toner can be done from an office supply place where you live, but there is no competition from them when you look online for replacement toner.
