The Kyocera FS-1700 Plus Printer Toner Provides Amazing Results!

The Kyocera FS-1700 Plus printer is a bit unlike most printers in that it doesn’t use a traditional drum and toner setup, for one. This is just one aspect of this high-quality and durable network printer that helps it to stand apart just a bit from other printers in its market segment. This is for the good, as this Kyocera printer using Kyocera FS-1700 Plus toner seems well-suited to most any business.

Making use of what the company calls a cartridge-free application, the FS-1700 Plus employs a developer system known as EcoSys that helps to increase the printer’s print capacity to much farther out than a traditional printer’s range. And while the initial cost of the printer may be higher than its contemporaries, it’s 3 year / 300,000-page print guarantee helps it justify the higher cost quite easily.

Print clarity and resolution is more than acceptable at 600 by 600 dpi, which gives it excellent quality for almost any print task. Kyocera has included a 66 MHz processor and 24 megabytes of RAM, which can easily be upgraded with little effort to a total of 66 megabytes. It also works with MS operating systems up through Windows 98, NT 3.51 and Mac OS 7.5 or higher. Indeed, this laser monochrome printer is ready to go.

The FS-1700 Plus is also fairly svelte for a network printer, weighing in at about 31 pounds (14 kilograms). It’s also nicely sized and can hold a total of 350 sheets of paper within its tray. There’s an optional duplex printer function that can also be had as well. Kyocera provides a standard 1 year warranty which can be added to for a nominal charge.

The printer also takes the most common paper sizes (letter, legal and A4) and can print out 12 pages per minute. It can print on transparencies, labels and plain paper and it interfaces through standard bidirectional parallel and serial ports. These are a bit dated in this day and age but are also very durable, so that’s a point in its favor.

Any office that it goes into to support needs to have a 220/240 volt outlet, a facet of the printer which is also a bit out of the ordinary for many printers of this type, which can run on standard 110/120 volt power. Still, as small office and small network/workgroup printers go, and because of the EcoSys capability, its cost-per-page is far lower than most any other network in its segment.

Another unique aspect of the Kyocera is that it employs a company proprietary memory system it calls EcoMemory, which allows the printer to compress memory in such a way that effective memory is increased appreciably. Because of its design, useful life is probably a full order of magnitude longer than other printers it competes against.

The Kyocera FS-1700 Plus printer works equally as well as a small office printer or a small network printer, and with its extremely long duty cycle, it delivers a far lower cost-per-page ratio than any other printer in its class. Add in its solid build and quality construction and there’s pretty much nothing to dislike about this particular machine.

The lower cost-per-page ratio is largely due to the Kyocera FS-1700 Plus toner.  Eliminating reprints seems to be a standard with Kyocera toner.  Save throughout the life of the printer when obtaining replacement toner online.
