Rupert Grint is the actor that plays “Ron Weasley” in J.K. Rowling’s famous books about Harry Potter. He has been playing the character since the first book and will play all the way throughout the seventh. He was born in England on August 24, 1988 in Hertfordshire.
He has played in all the Harry Potter books and other roles and has a very promising future in acting. Grint describes himself as a self proclaimed fan of the series of books. He has read all seven books and this was the reason he was so interested in the part. His interview for the part is very interesting considering how he ended up getting the part.
In school Grint was very interested in acting and drama. He took drama in school and this was the inspiration for his interview. For his interview or audition, he sent in a video of himself rapping about how much he wanted the part. He ended up impressing the producers and getting the job. The first and second books, The Sorcerer’s Stone and The Chamber of Secrets, were great movies. He won best supporting young actor and best new talent for his role in the Sorcerer’s Stone in 2002. He was also nominated for best male performance in The Order of the Phoenix and best supporting actor in The Half Blood Prince which premiered in 2009.
All of these successes are a promising start for the new and young actor. He has a future ahead of him in larger starring roles as he gets older. Although some of his roles outside the Harry Potter movies have been described as flops, he should have a successful career beyond Harry Potter as a film actor. One of his other roles in Thunderpants did not get very good reviews. This movie debuted in 2002 and was considered a flop. This movie was only his second movie ever and could be considered just a learning experience. His second film outside Harry Potter was much better. This was another British film in 2006 named Driving Lessons. He got amazing reviews as his first starring role. Critics loved the life he brought to his character and the well timed comedy he applied to the film.
Rupert Grint has graduated from Richard Hale School in England in case his career falls out afterwards. Although this is a slim possibility it is great that he has back up options and completed school. Rupert’s acting career looks very bright since he has really grasped his role in Harry Potter and his leading role in Driving Lessons. He has a very bright future ahead of him and we should look forward to seeing him in many roles for years to come.
