To Declutter Fast Review A Better Way To Get Organized

by erin on April 25, 2011

If you need to Declutter Fast review these easy steps. Gather several boxes labeled Keep, Return, Sell, File, and Trash. Start with the biggest pile and separate the items into the five boxes. Keepsakes that need to be organized go in the File box, so once this box is filled, set it aside until you’re finished with the rest.

Keep Box

Put items that have a practical, daily use in the Keep box. When the rest of the decluttering is finished, it should be easy to find a sensible place for these items. Make sure to only keep items that are actually used on a regular basis and need to be in arms reach. Note: the Keep box is not for keepsakes that need a home – save those for the File box.

Trash Box

Place trash and recyclables in the Trash box. Most piles are comprised of items that can be thrown away but because it’s all mixed in with keepsakes and legitimate paperwork, such as bills, receipts, certificates, etc. The decluttering process can be daunting. A Trash box makes tackling these piles so much easier.

Sell Box

Plan for a garage sale, or if you don’t have the energy, take the items in your Sell box to a resale shop, collective yard sale, or simply donate them to a charity organization. Make sure to sell items that are being saved “just in case.” You can usually purchase these later if and when you need them. In the meantime you’ve salvaged valuable space and possibly made a little money.

Return Box

Collect borrowed items such as library books, movies, or clothes in the Return box, along with any items that can be given to a friend or family member. Place this box in the car or by the door so you see it every time you leave the house. This will help you to remember to return items, and it gets them out of your space-starved house.

File Box

The File box will usually contain pictures, certificates, announcements, cards, and other keepsakes. Anything paper can be scanned into the computer in a keepsake file, then either recycled or put in a scrapbook. A keepsake box purchased from an office supply or hobby store can house larger items such as trophies or trinkets that aren’t used to decorate.

Online Software

Media such as DVDs and CDs take up a lot of space. Consider downloading free software that will store and organize these files online or on your hard drive. Then the boxes and cases can be safely stored away in the basement, or traded in for new items at a used CD & DVD store. The advent of portable music and movie players makes this a more practical solution than finding a place for all those cases.

Keepsake Items

Now that you’ve decluttered a bit, you should have room for all those items in the Keep box, and maybe even some room for a few new shelves to put them on. Stackable bins and boxes come in handy for larger storage items and they can be labeled so you can see everything in the box at a glance. This Declutter Fast review should work for big or small messes that can be anaylzed through the best review site.
