What Makes The Samsung ML 1630 Printer Beautiful

The Samsung ML 1630 printer is a lightweight device that does not break the bank. It was taken from the multipurpose SCX 4500. It is sold for around $200, which might seem a bit expensive for a basic laser printer, however, the sleek and professional design compensates for the price. This device is designed for high-end homes or offices. This a device made for people who want an elegant design over multiple features.  The Samsung ML 1630 toner only complements the pages produced by this machine.

It is about 13.1 x 14.8 inches big and 4.8 inches tall. The machine has touch sensitive buttons that can be used for power and cancelling the current print job. If you really want to turn the device completely off, you would need to look in the back, with this switch a little inconvenient for some. The blue LEDs on top will tell you the number of pages printed.

It has a transparent paper tray that holds 100 sheets. The tray’s capacity is a little small if you compare it to other laser printers. In addition, the printer has issues with thick media and it cannot accommodate legal size paper.

A 1,000 page yield toner cartridge is bundled with the printer. When you run out, you can replace it with a 2,000 page yield version for around $70.  This puts the average page cost at 3.5 cents, which is expensive for a laser printer. The average cost of most laser printers is 2.7 cents and lower.

It has an average printing speed of 17 pages per minute. When compared to other printers in its category, the Samsung was a little bit slower. However, there are cheaper printers in the market today that offers the same features.

The device’s printing quality was better than most of its counterparts. The text and graphics were sharp and clear. Even if you print a dark grayscale picture, you will not even notice the compression.

It has a 150 MHz processor and 8 MB memory that is able to cater to basic printing needs. The machine can reach a maximum resolution of 1,200 x 600 dpi. The resolution is somewhat limited compared to other printers that offer 1,200 x 1,200 dpi.

The Samsung 1630 has applications and drivers that support a variety of operating systems. It supports Mac OS X 10.3 or higher. The Linux operating system is also supported by the application. And, of course, it will work on Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, and Vista. USB, or Universal Serial Bus, is the only way to connect the printer to a computer. In addition, it does not have a built-in Ethernet, which makes networking a little bit costly since you have to buy additional hardware. You may need to spend $50 or more for the additional hardware.

The Samsung ML 1630 printer is a good choice if you want a stylish device. Basically, you are trading in some features found in bigger printers for the sleek and cool design of the Samsung printer. If you are after features, this printer is not for you. The machine is perfect for those with posh homes and offices. Bear in mind, this device’s first priority is beauty, not functionality.

While not high on features, the Samsung ML 1630 toner certainly provides professional-appearing documents.  Replacement Samsung toner can be found online for truly competitive prices from any reputable toner dealer.
